I have written a 3D version of life (after reading the Carter Bays article in
Sci Am). It's nothing too special, but you get zoom/rotate/pan with the choice
of coloured or wireframe cubes (both with hidden surface removal). The rule
number is given on startup as per the Bays specification.
If you want a copy of this for your IBM-PC, you will need to have a 386 or
better and minimum 4Mb of ram. Support is provided for SOME svga cards,
(S3,paradise,trident,ati,et4000,oak, and maybe a few others). Let me know what
card you have and I'll tell you if it's supported. If it's an obscure one,
find out if it is based on a more common chipset as it may still work.
