I am also looking for information describing cellular automata. I would appreciate any information concerning useful sources of information. I am especially interested in how to implement the various systems, and what they are used for. I am starting to develop ideas for an Artificial Life system which will incorporate Genetic Algorithms and any other useful mechanisms for simulation of organic growth, development, mutation, etc. I intend to start small and simple, adding more complexity as I become more certain of my direction. I am just beginning to learn programming skills, and am not sure yet which language/s I will use. Any help in this direction would be appreciated.
