New algorithm sought for Walsh function generator

I'm thinking that it should be possible with the right rule set to generate
Walsh functions with a 1D CA. I'm hoping to do this in hardware with a
single register using logic on feed-forward and feed-back paths between bits.

If you know of anyone doing work like this, I'd really like to hear from
them.
